SLA has a new Director

Alison Tarrant becomes the new Director of the School Library Association

The School Library Association now has a new Director. Alison Tarrant took over from Tricia Adams at the end of March, as Tricia retired after being at the helm for over 9 years. Alison says: “It is fantastic to work for a charity that has such a strong reputation and is trusted by so many people. Having worked in school libraries I have utilised the SLA myself and I am keen to continue to build that trust for school libraries and their staff across all sectors.”

The School Library Association was set up in 1937, and is renowned nationally for its first class publications and training events on all kinds of things school library staff need to know and they are accessible and easy to engage with. The SLA Weekend Course is running 22-24th June 2018, in Glasgow – the title is “Weavers of Dreams: Creativity and Imagination”.
